Career Highlights: Janis has been involved in the sport of bobsled for 29 years. His sliding career highlights were the World Championships in 1981 and 1984 as well as the 1984 Olympics in Sarajevo.
His favorite coaching moments were witnessing the U.S. medals at the 2002 Olympics and the 6th place finish at Torino in 2006.
About Janis: Outside of sledding, Skrastins enjoys building bobsled equipment, politics, history, psychology, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Skrastins has a degree in Physical Education from Latvia State Institute of Physical Education.
