Jordan Quam was encouraged to try out for bobsled by his trainer, Bill Welle, from Welle Fast Elite Training. Quam is a former football player and enjoyed "anything that caused my mom to frown." He enjoys spearfishing, snowmobiling, snowboarding, sound systems and vehicle customization.
Quam's father, mother and sister are all athletic. Quam says he was "created by God with good genes."
