Kalyn McGuire was born on March 29, 1999. The native of Queensbury, N.Y. is a junior at Queensbury High School. She started off as a ski jumper, but her career ended after she had a bad crash and snapped her ski and her wrist. While she stopped ski jumping, she never stopped looking for the same adrenaline rush. When they asked her to try bobsled and skeleton, she was ecstatic. The first time she went down the track in a skeleton, she fell in love. She has been sliding for three years.

Her parents have always encouraged her to be active and try every sport, until she found one that stuck with her.

In college, she plans to study biomedical engineering and go on to work with prosthetics. At the end of the day, she wants to leave the world better than when she got here.
