US PARASLIDING WRAPS UP ITS RACING SEASON WITH NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

LAKE PLACID, NY (April 1, 2024) - US Parasliding has officially wrapped up its racing season with the team’s National Championships, which also served as National Selection Races for some athletes. 

The events began March 30 with heats one and two of Para Bobsled and Para Skeleton. After the first day, Will Castillo was in first with a two-run time of 1:59.85, Bob Balk was in second with a time of 2:01.05, David Christopher was in third with a time of 2:01.20, Dan Rizzieri was in fourth with a time of 2:02.04 and Austin Parker was in fifth with a time of 2:02.21. 

In Para Skeleton, Lee Kuxhaus had a two-run time of 2:10.76.

The second day, March 31, brought the final two heats for both events. In Para Bob, Castillo finished in first with a four-run combined time of 3:58.88.

“It was an honor to win Nationals this year. Team USA Para is full of incredible athletes. I am looking to keep this confidence going into next year. Thank you to everyone who follows and supports us,” shared Castillo.

Balk finished second with a time of 4.00.64, Christopher finished third with a time of 4:01.18, Rizzieri placed fourth with a time of 4:02.97 and Austin Parker finished overall fifth with a time of 4:03.04. In Para Skeleton, Kuxhaus finished with a four-run time of 4:18.55.

With the conclusion of this event, the racing season for US Parasliding has officially come to a close. However, they will be hosting a Beginner’s Camp for military veterans April 1 through 3
