USA Bobsled/Skeleton and TeachAids Unite to Provide Concussion Education
Lake Placid, N.Y. (May 10, 2021) — USA Bobsled/Skeleton (USABS), the national governing body for the sports in the United States, and TeachAids, an award-winning nonprofit social enterprise behind the CrashCourse concussion education technology, proudly announce a new partnership.
TeachAids creates breakthrough technology to solve persistent problems in health education around the world. Their products are designed with input from a team of world-class academics, researchers, doctors, and athletes associated with leading organizations and institutions such as Stanford University, Harvard University and beyond. TeachAids has developed "CrashCourse," a suite of interactive products focussed on the prevention and treatment of concussions and related mental health issues. This education has been designed to teach athletes, parents and coaches about concussions. CrashCourse products include the most up-to-date scientific knowledge and help to dispel myths and misconceptions about the concussion recovery process. It also serves as a resource for athletic trainers, rehab specialists and physicians.
“Ensuring the best physical and mental health for our athletes is our top priority,” said Aron McGuire, USABS Chief Executive Officer. “We have been impressed with the research-driven model by the TeachAids Team and are proud to integrate their CrashCourse concussion education into our product offerings”.
USA Bobsled/Skeleton will include the CrashCourse content on its website to educate not only athletes currently competing in the sports, but also athletes interested in trying out for the sports in an effort to promote positive health and safety of an athletes career from day one through retirement.
“We are honored to work with USA Bobsled/Skeleton to help further the understanding of concussions for the athlete and coaching community. Our greatest hope is that this CrashCourse concussion education will serve as a complement to existing educational materials to help make this incredibly exciting sport safer for all,” summarizes Dr. Piya Sorcar, Founder and CEO of TeachAids.
The CrashCourse curriculum will be instituted throughout Bobsled & Skeleton programs nationwide starting today via their website. To find out more about CrashCourse by TeachAids, visit http://crashcourse.teachaids.org.
