USA BOBSLED/SKELETON PARTNERS WITH FARIBAULT MILL
by Abby Slenker
LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (July 1, 2024)- USA Bobsled/Skeleton (USABS) has added Faribault Mill to our amazing family of partners.
Established in 1865, Faribault Mill holds the distinction of being Minnesota's oldest manufacturer, known for crafting enduring blankets, decorative throws, apparel, and accessories by hand.
Over its rich history, the company has supplied woolen blankets to pioneers venturing westward and offered solace to troops during two world wars, weaving its employees and itself into the fabric of American history.
Presently, Faribault Mill remains committed to crafting products designed to last, prioritizing 100% Made in USA production with eco-friendly materials like wool and cotton. Since 2020, Faribault Mill has been an official sponsor of the US Olympic and Paralympic Team and has contributed over 12,000 blankets to youth facing homelessness nationwide through their Spread the Warmth initiative.
In addition to being super comfortable, their 100% cotton and wool blankets offer many health benefits for our athletes, helping them improve their sleep by regulating their temperature throughout the night, so they can wake up more refreshed than ever, shortening their recovery times in the process.
“We couldn’t be more excited to partner with the USABS. It’s a natural fit: two premium brands dedicated to American-made quality. And better yet…our blankets can provide the perfect night’s sleep to help our Olympic athletes recover quickly and win on the track!” shared Rick Dow, Chief Marketing Officer at Faribault Mill.
“USABS is proud to announce our newest partnership with Faribault Mill! Our athletes will now have the opportunity to experience the benefits of sleeping under 100% cotton and wool fabrics by Faribault Mill. As we all know, recovery is incredibly important to our athletes, and we are excited to make gains with this 100% made in the USA brand. Faribault Mill's fifth generation of craftspeople aligns perfectly with our team's values as we both understand what hard work looks like. We are athletes grinding each day to make our country proud, and with Faribault Mill’s support, we can achieve even more. We are excited to see what the future holds for our partnership with Faribault Mill and look forward to the many benefits their high-quality cotton and wool fabrics will bring to our athletes,” shared Mickie Knous, Director of Partner & Sponsorship Development for USABS.
These American-made, artisan blankets proudly echo the national pride that our USA Bobsled/Skeleton team embodies while representing the stars and stripes in sleds manufactured domestically. Not only will the blankets provide a multitude of benefits to our athletes who use them, but they also offer an excellent way for fans to show their support by having one in their homes.
To celebrate this wonderful partnership, Faribault Mill kindly supplied the team with 100% cotton blankets during USABS' annual Team Camp at UNC Charlotte. These blankets’ breathable materials were perfect for ensuring a cozy night's sleep in Charlotte, NC's heat. Moreover, these blankets will continue to be beneficial even after the Team Camp for athlete recovery and relaxation while they train all hard all off-season.
Additionally, in light of our exciting collaboration, Faribault Mill and USABS will collaborate on a unique USA Bobsled/Skeleton blanket for our supporters to purchase later this year. In the meantime, their range of Team USA blankets is available for purchase at faribaultmill.com and select retail outlets in Faribault and Edina, MN.
