Kelly Curtis Wins Silver in St. Moritz

ST. MORITZ, SWITZERLAND (January 9, 2026) -Kelly Curtis slid to her second World Cup podium finish of her career and her first as a mom in Women’s Skeleton today, climbing seven spots, moving from 9th to 2nd, to secure a silver-medal finish.

-2nd place - Kelly Curtis; 2-run time of 2:22.12

-11th place - Mystique Ro; 2-run time of 2:22.77

-17th place - Kendall Wesenberg; 2-run time of 2:23.25

-22nd place - Sara Roderick; 2-run time of 2:23.78

“Kelly really stepped it up today. It was a bit of an up and down training week for her, but after a few adjustments and strong execution on race day, I’m really excited for her to work her way on to the podium,” shared USA Skeleton Coach Matt Antoine about Curtis’ performance today.

 

In Men’s Skeleton: Race 2, Team USA placed as follows:

10th place - Austin Florian; 2-run time of 2:18.43

26th place - Nick Tucker; 1-run time of 1:11.08

27th place - Andy Whittier; 1-run time of 1:11.30

 

In Skeleton Mixed Team, Team USA placed as follows:

5th place - Mystique Ro and Austin Florian; combined time of 2:26.66

8th place - Kelly Curtis and Nick Tucker; combined time of 2:27.33

World Cup races will continue tomorrow, January 10, with Women’s Monobob and 2-Man Bobsled.

NAC results:

The North American Cup (NAC) circuit continued in Lake Placid this week, with Dan Barefoot and Katie Uhleander winning again in both Men’s and Women’s Skeleton. Click here for the rest of the NAC race results from earlier this week.

NAC Men’s Skeleton: Race 2

-1st place - Dan Barefoot; 2-run time of 1:48.24

-12th place - Hunter Williams; 2-run time of 1:49.97

-23rd place - Sam Allred; 2-run time of 1:52.59

-24th place - Lukas Kissell; 2-run time of 1:52.81

-27th place - Tyler Lutz; 1-run time of 56.54s

-28th place - Tyler Madl; 1-run time of 56.78s

 

NAC Women’s Skeleton: Race 2

-1st place - Katie Uhlaender; 2-run time of 1:51.16

-9th place - Liesel Baker; 2-run time of 1:54.26

-16th place - Grace Otto; 2-run time of 1:56.23

-19th place - Lani Huyke; 2-run time of 1:56.99

NAC races will continue in Lake Placid beginning tomorrow, January 10.

EC results:

The European Cup (EC) began its racing leg in Innsbruck, Austria today.

Representing Team USA in Women’s Skeleton, Michelle Toukan placed 5th with a two-run time of 1:50.13, and Sha’Londa Terry placed 18th with a combined time of 1:51.51.

Representing Team USA in Men’s Skeleton, Darryl Payne Jr. placed 23rd with a two-run time of 1:52.54. Bradley Nicol placed 26th with a one-run time of 58.00s.

EC races will continue in Austria tomorrow, January 10.
