Team USA Races in St. Moritz and Lake Placid

Team USA Skeleton athletes competed in an additional Men’s Skeleton World Cup race today following the cancellation of last weekend’s event at the Winterberg, Germany World Cup stop. Austin Florian finished 10th with a two-run time of 2:18.17. Nick Tucker placed 24th with a two-run time of 2:19.73. Andy Whittier finished 27th after one run with a time of 1:11.56.
World Cup racing will continue in St. Moritz on January 9 with Women’s Skeleton, Men’s Skeleton Race 2, and Skeleton Mixed Team competition.
NAC Race Results
In Lake Placid, New York, the North American Cup sliding circuit is underway, highlighted by multiple podium finishes for Team USA athletes. In NAC Four Man Bobsled, Team Mercer earned two silver medal finishes. In Race 1, Grady Mercer, Quinten Arello, Hakeem Abdul Saboor, and Bryce Cheek finished second with a two run time of 1:50.37. The same crew followed with another second place finish in Race 2, posting a two run time of 1:50.74.
In NAC Skeleton competition, both Katie Uhlaender and Dan Barefoot captured gold medals in the first of two scheduled races. In Women’s Skeleton, Uhlaender earned first place with a two run time of 1:50.99. Liesel Baker finished ninth with a time of 1:53.31, Lani Huyke placed 17th at 1:56.25, and Grace Otto finished 20th with a time of 1:56.72.
In Men’s Skeleton, Barefoot secured first place with a two run time of 1:47.98. Hunter Williams placed 15th with a time of 1:50.41, Lukas Kissell finished 23rd at 1:52.27, Tyler Madl placed 26th after one run with a time of 56.35, Sam Allred finished 27th at 56.37, and Tyler Lutz placed 28th with a time of 56.53.
