PARK CITY, UT (Nov 3, 2024)- USA Skeleton has determined the World Cup team for the first half of the 2024/2025 sliding season. This announcement directly follows two days of Skeleton Selection Races, which concluded last night.

For the women, the USA earned three quota spots. Mystique Ro earned a bye based on her IBSF ranking from the 2023/24 season. Based on the results of the Selection Races, Katie Uhlaender and Sara Roderick were awarded the other two spots. Additionally, Kelly Curtis has a 4th World Cup spot specifically in her name from the IBSF maternity clause.

For the men, USA earned three quota spots. Based on the results of the Selection Races, the committee named Austin Florian, Dan Barefoot, and Nick Tucker to the World Cup team. However, due to the IBSF World Cup schedule and the necessary planning required to go to Asia, the committee has discretionarily awarded the first three races to Hunter Williams. Tucker could then assume the 3rd WC spot after the Asian races.

This will be a particularly important season for the team, as this will be the last full sliding season before the 2026 Winter Olympics, which falls in the middle of the 2025/2026 sliding season.

“The sliding and pushing this week has been fantastic,” shared Matt Antoine, USA Head Skeleton Coach. “It’s clear our team has been preparing and ready to get out there. I’m excited for what’s to come this season.
