ST MORITZ, Switzerland (January 15, 2022) – Frank Del Duca (Bethel, Maine) and Josh Williamson (Lake Mary, Fla.) finished 15th in the two-man bobsled World Cup finale in St. Moritz this morning. Del Duca has never driven the all-natural track before this week. Hunter Church (Cadyville, N.Y.) and Carlo Valdes (Newport Beach, Calif.) teamed together for 25th place.


Del Duca and Williamson posted the 12th best start time of 5.22 seconds for the 18th ranked run of 1:06.73. The duo bettered their start time in the second heat to 5.19 seconds, eighth best of the field, for the 14th fastest downtime of 1:06.71. Del Duca and Williamson spent some time in the leader’s box as they moved up three spots into 15th with a two-run total of 2:13.44.


Church and Valdes clocked a start time of 5.26 seconds, 18th of the field. They missed the top-20 cutoff for the second heat with the 25th ranked downtime of 1:07.34.


Francesco Friedrich and Thorsten Margis from Germany claimed gold with a combined time of 2:11.76. Canadians Justin Kripps and Cam Stones were second with a total of 2:11.95, followed by Germans Johannes Lochner and Florian Bauer in third with a two-run total of 2:12.12.


The action continues in St. Moritz tomorrow with the two-woman bobsled race at 9 a.m. local time, followed by the four-man bobsled competition at 1 p.m. Streaming will be available via desktop at olympics.com/en/live/, and via mobile, tablet and connected television platforms on the Olympic Channel app. Check local listings for broadcast times on the Olympic Channel and OlympicChannel.com.
