CORTINA, ITALY (February 17, 2026) – Women’s Monobob concluded this evening with two Olympic medals for Team USA. Elana Meyers Taylor secured her first-ever Olympic gold medal, marking her sixth Olympic medal overall. Kaillie Armbruster Humphries won bronze, marking her fifth Olympic medal.

“I still can’t believe it. I still can’t even put into words what this means — having the gold medal,” Meyers Taylor shared in the Mixed Zone. “It’s still surreal. But at the end of the day, in six days I’ve got school pickups and drop-offs in the middle of Texas.”

“They’re all different,” shared Armbruster Humphries about her fifth Olympic medal. “This one specifically is tied to the mom journey over this last year and a half. There was no guarantee. I really came into this race just trying to be the best version of myself — for me and for my son.”

At the end of four heats, Meyers Taylor posted a combined time of 3:57.93 to win, edging out Laura Nolte of Germany by just 0.04 seconds (3:57.97), marking the closest women’s bobsled finish in Olympic history. Armbruster Humphries claimed bronze with a total time of 3:58.05, finishing 0.12 seconds behind the gold-medal pace. Kaysha Love placed seventh with a time of 3:59.27.

This marks back-to-back Olympic gold medals for Team USA in Women’s Monobob in the two Games since the event was added to the Olympic program, keeping Team USA undefeated in the discipline on the Olympic stage.

Meyers Taylor and Armbruster Humphries tied for a track record of 59.08s in the third run to close the gap on Nolte. Meyers Taylor’s victory, marking her sixth Olympic medal, ties the record for most Winter Olympic medals won by an American woman. She previously earned silver in the inaugural Olympic Women’s Monobob event in Beijing.

Meyers Taylor, Armbruster Humphries, and Love will return to competition beginning February 20 at 6:00 p.m. CET for Two-Woman bobsled Heat 1. They will be joined by push athletes Jadin O'Brien, Jasmine Jones and Azaria Hill.
