Lake Placid, N.Y. (February 23, 2021) – USA Bobsled/Skeleton (USABS) announced today a partnership with Advanced Exoskeletal Systems (Aexos) through 2022. Aexos is a design and technology company that focuses on the importance of protecting and stabilizing the neck, and minimizing damage to the joint. Advancements in material and science, coupled with research and innovation, allow for protection of the neck without inhibiting range of motion.

USABS athletes were provided HALO™ shirts by Aexos last season, and USABS High Performance Health Care Services Provider Andrew Ernst was pleased with the result.

“Both bobsled and skeleton athletes face the risk of whiplash and concussive injuries, and we are always searching for products and technology that can improve the safety of our athletes,” Ernst said. “Aexos is a welcome addition. The Halo shirt is lightweight and non-restrictive, which is perfect for bobsled and skeleton. We look forward to expanding the partnership with Aexos and building our relationship, including research on how forces impact athletes’ bodies, to objectively measuring the benefits Halo has to offer while sliding.”

“Aexos is a proud supporter of amateur sport, and in particular the amazing athletes of USABS," said Aexos CEO Dr. Daryl Sherman. "We truly believe that the heart of sport lies within amateur sports. The partnership with USABS has strengthened and broadened our understanding of how universal the need for protection and support of the neck is in order to unlock an individual’s true potential. These athletes are some of the finest in the world. Aexos will continue to extend and expand our support to these athletes as they push for the podium.”
