Women’s monobob and men’s two-man bobsled 2022 Olympic Winter Games training and competition schedule

YANQING, China (February 9, 2022) – Official training for the women’s monobob and men’s two-man bobsled events at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games begins tomorrow at the Yanqing National Sliding Centre. Teams will get three training days before two days of competition. The monobob competition will take place from February 13-14, and the two-man race will be from February 14-15.


The complete monobob and two-man bobsled schedule from the Yanqing National Sliding Centre is below, with all times listed in local time:


Thursday, February 10

2:45- 5:15 p.m.: Men’s two-man bobsled official training #1

5:45- 7:30 p.m.: Women’s monobob official training #1


Friday, February 11

2- 4:50 p.m.: Men’s two-man bobsled official training #2

5- 6:45 p.m.: Women’s monobob official training #2


Saturday, February 12

10-11:45 a.m.: Women’s monobob official training #3

12:30- 3:15 p.m.: Men’s two-man bobsled official training #3


Sunday, February 13

9:30- 11:45 a.m.: Women’s monobob race heats 1 & 2


Monday, February 14

9:30 a.m.- 12 p.m.: Women’s monobob race heats 2 & 3

8:05-10:45 p.m.: Men’s two-man bobsled race heats 1 & 2


Tuesday, February 15

8:15-10:45 p.m.: Men’s two-man bobsled race heats 2 & 3

Elana Meyers Taylor (Douglasville, Ga.) and Kaillie Humphries (Carlsbad, Calif.) are medal favorites for the women’s monobob competition. Meyers Taylor is the 2022 World Cup title holder after winning five medals– four of them gold– this season. Humphries is the reigning World Champion in women’s monobob, winning last season’s crown by over half a second.  Monobob is one of seven new sports at the Beijing Winter Olympics and was added to increase participation and to provide women two medal opportunities. 


Hunter Church (Cadyville, N.Y.) will compete with Charlie Volker (Fair Haven, N.J.) in the two-man bobsled competition. Both athletes are making their Olympic debut. Hakeem Abdul Saboor (Powhatan, Va.) will push for Frank Del Duca (Bethel, Maine). This is Del Duca’s first Olympics, and the second for Abdul Saboor. Del Duca and Saboor are both members of the Army’s World Class Athlete Program.
