WINTERBERG, GERMANY (January 8, 2023) - On January 6, 2023, the IBSF World Cup began its first race in 2023 with Men’s Skeleton followed by Women’s Skeleton. In Men’s Skeleton, Austin Florian finished 9th with a time of 1:55.16. Andrew Blaser finished 17th with a time of 1:56.33. In Women’s Skeleton, Kelly Curtis placed 11th with a time of 1:58.31. Teammates Kendall Wesenberg and Hallie Clarke ranked 16th and 17th, with times of 1:58.70 and 1:58.72 respectively.

On January 7, the action continued with Women’s Monobob, where Kaillie Humphries earned a 2nd-place finish with her time of 1:59.72. With her 2nd-place finish, Humphries leads the overall IBSF rankings in Monobob. Nicole Vogt placed 12th with a time of 2:01.46 and Riley Compton placed 15th with a time of 2:02.34.

The last day of races concluded for the USA with 2-Woman Bobsled, where Humphries and Kaysha Love placed 4th with a time of 1:54.43. Vogt and Jasmine Jones placed 13th with a time of 1:56.35. Compton and Emily Renna placed 15th with a time of 1:56.87.

“I am really happy with my performances here in Winterberg,” Humphries shared about her two podium finishes. “This is typically my hardest week on tour; this track and I have had a long history of bad results. I am very happy with my driving and pushes this week. Kaysha performed awesome, and to be pushing this quick in only our second race together this season, her second year as a brakeman ever, is really cool. She has a very bright future in this sport. The team was a huge help, we are working very well together and having fun this year”.

The IBSF World Cup will reconvene in Altenberg, Germany on January 13
